There is a common myth circulating in developer circles: "In the AI era, we won't need packages. I'll just ask Claude to write the function for me."

On the surface, it sounds logical. If an LLM can generate a specialized validation utility in three seconds, why bother with an lpm install?

But this view ignores a fundamental truth of software engineering: Writing code is easy; maintaining code is where the cost lies. Every line of AI-generated code you paste into your editor is "static" debt. If a security vulnerability is found, the AI isn't going to come back to your repo and fix it. You are now the sole maintainer of a "black box" function.
